According to the city\u2019s Department of Information Technologies, more than 80% of patients are seen by specialists at exactly the scheduled time.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\n\u201cComputerization of key processes in the city\u2019s healthcare system has made it possible to cut the waiting time for patients to see the specialist they need in half. In addition, more than 80% of clinic visitors now see a doctor within five minutes of the scheduled time,\u201d said the department head, Vladimir Makarov.<\/p>\n<p>This is how the situational <strong>EMIAS center<\/strong> enables real-time monitoring of the availability and demand for outpatient and polyclinic care on the map of Moscow by district, medical institution, and doctor specialty, thanks to which the city\u2019s polyclinics have moved away from the \u201cdistrict doctor\u201d principle of operation. \u201cWhen we analyzed the results of such work over a nine-month period, the share of those who were unable to see a doctor within a comfortable time frame was less than 1%. By comparison, in one of the districts where the \u2018district doctor\u2019 principle has been retained, this figure is at 45%,\u201d Makarov emphasized.<\/p>\n<p>In the near future, according to the authorities\u2019 plans, the rollout of electronic medical records citywide will begin, and next year the system will also track the progress of medical checkups, show the availability of high-tech medical care, the status of citywide waiting lists, the dynamics of subsidized medication provision, and much more.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thanks to the implementation of the Unified Medical Information and Analytical System (EMIAS), the waiting time for patients to see a doctor in Moscow clinics has been cut in half.
